Monte Watson-Robertson Killed after Buckeye Head-on Accident

 
BUCKEYE, AZ (July 12, 2024) — An 18-year-old identified as Monte Watson-Robertson died in a head-on accident on Friday, June 21.
 
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place near Beloat Road and Jackrabbit Trail at about 10:30 a.m.
 
MCSO said Watson-Robertson was on his way home from dropping his sister off at work. After that, he drove over the center lane and then eventually crashed head-on into a cement truck.
 
Deputies said that the truck driver was not under the influence or speeding. He will not be face charges, they added.
 
According to Darvella Johnson, who is Watson-Robertson’s mom, Monte recently celebrated his prom and graduation. He was about to start college on June 24th to become an Automotive Mechanic. Additionally, he also played football and basketball and was in the band.
 
The victim’s family made a GoFundMe to help them with funeral expenses. As of writing, the fundraiser has raised more than $7000.
