Miraslav Jovanovic Dead in Phoenix Car Crash on 17 Freeway

 
PHOENIX, AZ (April 9, 2024) — 60-year-old Miraslav Jovanovic, of Anthem, died in a car accident on Thursday, March 27.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the single-vehicle crash took place on the 17 Freeway, south of Highway 303, just before 2:00 p.m.
 
Arizona DPS said Jovanovic lost control of the vehicle and it struck the median wall on the 17 Freeway. After that, it overturned.
 
Emergency crews then responded to the scene. After that, they brought Jovanovic to the hospital with serious injuries where she later died.
 
As of now, the reason why Jovanovic lost control of the vehicle is still unknown. DPS initially said that two people in the vehicle sustained injuries. However, they later withdrew that statement as they found out that Jovanovic was the sole occupant.
 
Authorities closed all southbound lanes of 17 Freeway causing traffic to back up in the area. They reopened all lanes just before 5:00 p.m.
