Miguel Soto and Hermes Balderrama Identified in Fatal Hudspeth County Crash

 
HUDSPETH COUNTY, TX (July 17, 2023) – Officers identified 60-year-old Miguel Angel Soto of Fort Hancock and 39-year-old Hermes Ivan Balderrama of Horizon City who died in a crash on 10 Freeway on July 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened 19 miles west of Sierra Blanca just before 3:00 AM. Based on a report, Balderrama was driving along the eastbound side of the freeway at the time of the crash.
 
Soto was driving west in the eastbound lanes when he hit Balderrama. The impact caused Soto to be thrown from his car into the median.
 
As a result, both men suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
