Miguel Mendoza Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (January 23, 2024) – The Tucson Police Department identified 56-year-old Miguel Martinez Mendoza who died in a hit-and-run on Escalante Road on December 30.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Winter Palm Drive. Based on the report, Mendoza was crossing Escalante Road in or near a marked crosswalk at Winter Palm Drive.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a black 2013 or 2014 Nissan Altima hit him. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene without giving aid to the victim.
 
As a result, Mendoza suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he later died.
 
TPD is asking anyone to call 88-CRIME about any information on the black 2013 or 2014 Nissan Altima that may have front passenger-side damage or windshield damage.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
