Michael Villanueva Killed in Rear-End Accident on FM 755 at Embassy Street [Rio Grande City, TX]

Michael Villanueva Identified in Fatal Car Accident in Rio Grande City

 
RIO GRANDE CITY, TX (March 11, 2024) – Officials identified 34-year-old Michael Villanueva of Rio Grande City who died in a rear-end crash on FM 755 on February 27.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Embassy Street around 2:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger in a 2011 GMC Sierra traveling north on FM 755.
 
Police said the driver was distracted prior to the crash. Due to unknown circumstances, the vehicle rear-ended a flatbed trailer.
 
As a result, Villanueva suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the GMC pickup was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
