Michael Tamez Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Winton

 
WINTON, CA (January 12, 2022) – The CHP Merced Area Office identified 30-year-old Michael Tamez of Atwater as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on Santa Fe Drive on January 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at California Street.
 
Based on a report, Tamez was walking along Santa Fe prior to the crash. It appeared to investigators that a driver hit him and left the scene without rendering aid. Officers discovered the victim at approximately 8:15 a.m. the next day.
 
As a result, Tamez suffered fatal injuries and died in the incident.
