Michael Sanchez Dead, Gilbert Sanchez, Kevin Rojas-Maynez, and Luis Jaquez-Rojas Injured after Pecos County Accident

 
PECOS COUNTY, TX (December 4, 2024) — One person identified as 70-year-old Michael Sanchez died in an accident on Monday, November 18.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred on FM 1776, near IH-10 Frontage Road at around 6:15 a.m.
 
Texas DPS said a 2022 BMW 330 driven by 37-year-old Gilbert Sanchez, with Michael Sanchez as a passenger traveled westbound on the IH-Frontage Road. It approached the intersection of FM 1776.
 
At the same time, a 1988 Ford F-150, driven by 23-year-old Kevin Rojas-Maynez, moved southbound. Then the BMW failed to yield the right of way to the F-150. It resulted in the crash of the two vehicles.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Michael Sanchez dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics brought both drivers and a passenger in the Ford, 23-year-old Luis Alberto Jaquez-Rojas, to the hospital. All of them were in stable condition.
 
The incident remains under investigation.
