Michael Cooper Struck and Killed While Riding Bicycle on Grant Road at Los Altos Avenue in Tucson

 
TUCSON, AZ (April 7, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department identified 65-year-old Michael David Cooper as the victim who died in a bicycle accident on Grant Road on March 24.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Los Altos Avenue shortly before 9:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, Cooper was riding his bicycle east on Grant at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he made a sudden left turn and was struck by a Hyundai Elantra.
 
As a result Cooper suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to Banner-University Medical Center, where he later died.
 
The driver of the Elantra, a 19-year-old man, immediately stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Police did not believe impairment was a factor.
 
As of now, no other details are available.
