Jaden Scheuerlein Injured Hours Before Trial in Richland Accident on Highway 240

 
RICHLAND, WA (April 7, 2023) – Richland police confirmed that 28-year-old Jaden Scheuerlein of Kennewick was injured in a pedestrian accident on Highway 240 on March 27.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened shortly after 2:00 AM, hours before the victim needed to appear in court.
 
Based on a report, Scheuerlein was walking west in the traffic lanes on the highway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a 2008 Honda Civic traveling west struck him.
 
As a result, the victim suffered injuries in the incident. His condition was not immediately available.
 
The 18-year-old driver of the Civic and her passenger were not hurt.
 
According to online court records, Scheuerlein was scheduled for a jury trial in Benton County Superior Court on Monday for five felony charges of theft, identity theft, financial fraud, forgery and possessing a stolen vehicle.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
