Melanie Scott Killed in Accident on FM 51 at Old Springtown Road [Parker County, TX]

Melanie Scott Identified in Fatal Car Accident in Parker County

 
PARKER COUNTY, TX (January 17, 2023) – Officers identified Melanie Scott of Springtown as the victim who died in a car accident on FM 51 on January 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Old Springtown Road around 7:30 AM. Based on a report, Scott was driving a Chevrolet Cobalt west on the road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, an 18-wheeler truck was traveling north on FM 51. As Scott attempted to turn south on FM 51, she failed to yield right of way to oncoming traffic and the truck struck her in the driver’s side.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced Scott deceased at the scene.
 
A 10-year-old with Scott suffered incapacitating injuries while the driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
