Matthew Gray Dead after Corpus Christi Hit-and-Run on Highway 77
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (July 16, 2024) — A 29-year-old man identified as Matthew Gray died after a hit-and-run on Friday, June 21.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety officials, Gray was on his motorcycle traveling on the Highway 77 ramp, just south of Calallen. Then he drove over a concrete curb and struck a median.
The impact ejected him off his bike.
After the incident, Gray was able to get up and walk. However, a Corpus Christi RTA bus driver told police that a passing vehicle struck Gray a few moments later.
Officials said the driver who hit him stopped in a parking lot and then left the scene.
Paramedics transported Gray to Spohn Shoreline Hospital, where medical officers pronounced him dead.
Authorities found the suspect vehicle the next day.
