Krisna Soto, Taylour Pechal Killed after Gonzales Head-On Crash
GONZALES, TX (July 16, 2024) — Two Tempe 18-year-olds, namely Taylour Maddison Pechal and Krisna Soto, died in a crash on Saturday, June 29.
The fatal accident involving three vehicles took place at the 1100 block of Water Street at around 8:35 p.m.
A police investigation determined Pechal drove a gray Ford Escape northbound on Water Street. Then, for unknown reasons, she veered into oncoming traffic. Then she crashed into the rear driver side of a white Mazda CX5 moving southbound on the same road.
After that, Pechal’s Ford Escape continued moving into the southbound lanes. It then eventually collided head-on with a black Dodge Ram.
Gonzales Fire Department and Gonzales County EMS arrived at the scene. They freed Pechal and Soto from the wreckage of the Ford Escape.
Paramedics rushed both teens to San Antonio Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Police later reported that Soto and Pechal both died.
Medics also rushed the driver and passenger in the Black Dodge Ram to Gonzales Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.
A GoFundMe account said Soto graduated recently and dreams of working as a dental hygienist. Meanwhile, another GoFundMe account dedicated to Pechal said she just graduated from Temple High School and planned to attend Texas A&M University.
Our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of Taylour Pechal and Krisna Soto during this difficult time.
