Hollis McDaniel, Marlon McDaniel Identified in Fatal Crash in Tyler County

 
TYLER COUNTY, TX (October 26, 2023) – Officials identified 46-year-old Marlon McDaniel and 45-year-old Hollis McDaniel, both of Woodville, who died in a crash on Highway 69 on October 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Recreational Road 255 around 5:00 AM. Based on a report, 61-year-old Don Houston of Lufkin was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck northbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he crossed into the southbound lane and head-on with Marlon McDaniel’s Chevrolet car.
 
As a result, both Marlon McDaniel and his passenger, Hollis McDaniel, suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Emergency crews transported Houston to a Lufkin hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
