Chanthy Hout Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Tropicana Avenue at Ocean Drive [Las Vegas, NV]

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 26, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified 43-year-old Chanthy Hout of Long Beach, California who died in a pedestrian accident on Tropicana Avenue on October 15.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Ocean Drive around 11:30 AM. Based on a report, Hout was crossing the street against a pedestrian signal.
 
At that point, a Kia EV6 was traveling east on Tropicana Avenue struck her. The Kia had a green light.
 
As a result, Hout suffered grave injuries in the crash. Emergency crews transported her to a local hospital, where she later died.
 
The Kia’s driver showed no signs of impairment.
 
As of now, the collision remains under investigation by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
