Marissa Powell and Cecil Kelley Dead; Priscilla Kelley Hurt in Eola Head-On Accident

 
EOLA, TX (January 6, 2025) — Two people, identified as Marissa Powell and Cecil Kelley, died in a head-on accident on Wednesday, December 25.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the two-vehicle crash occurred at around 8:35 p.m. on FM Road 765 near mile marker 404.
 
Texas DPS said 24-year-old Marissa Powell, of Houston, drove in a vehicle westbound on FM 765. At the same time, 79-year-old Cecil Kelley, of Eden, drove a 2014 Kia van with 78-year-old Priscilla Kelley, also of Eden.
 
The preliminary crash investigation said that Cecil entered the eastbound lane. Then it crashed head-on into Powell’s vehicle, causing the van to catch fire.
 
Concho County Judge Allen Amos pronounced both Powell and Cecil dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics brought Priscilla to Shannon Medical Center with serious injuries.
 
Officials said road and weather conditions were dry and clear when the accident occurred.
 
Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Graves Hunter with the Concho County Sheriff’s Office and Wall Volunteer Fire Department investigated the incident.
