Mario Rocha Jr. Arrested, One Dead after Waco Hit-and-Run Accident

 
WACO, TX (January 24, 2024) — Authorities arrested 24-year-old Mario Rocha Jr. after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Sunday, January 21.
 
According to the Waco Police Department, officers responded to North 20th Street and Colcord Avenue at about 1:22 a.m.
 
When officers arrived at the area, they found one vehicle that was hit by another car. They discovered three people inside.
 
Paramedics transported two people to a local hospital. They expect them to be okay. However, one passenger did not make it and died at the scene, Waco Police said.
 
Investigators believe the vehicle that struck them did not stop to check on the injured. After that, it left the scene before officers arrived at the area.
 
Police said they arrested Rocha Jr., who was a suspect in the hit-and-run crash. Then they charged him with failure to stop and render aid in a crash involving death, which is a second-degree felony.
