Motorcyclist Mario Murillo Figueroa Dies in Kern County Car Crash

 
KERN COUNTY, CA (December 13, 2022) – 34-year-old Mario Murillo Figueroa died after a motorcycle crash on Bear Mountain Boulevard and Edison Road on Sunday afternoon, December 4.

According to the California Highway Patrol, around 12:18 p.m. Figueroa drove his 2014 Yamaha motorcycle on Bear Mountain Boulevard. At the same time, a 2021 Peterbilt semi-truck was turning left on the southbound lane of Edison Road.

As Figueroa was approaching a red light at the intersection, he attempted to go through the traffic and crashed into the semi-truck.

The Kern County Fire Department provided medical attention to Figueroa but he later died at the scene, police said.

Authorities furthered that the involvement of alcohol or drugs in the crash are still being investigated.
