EL PASO, TX (September 26, 2022) – Police identified Maria Lorena Ponce Velazquez as the victim who was struck by a vehicle on St. Vrain Street on September 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at San Antonio Avenue just before 11:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, Ponce was crossing San Antonio prior to the crash. At the same time, 37-year-old Fernando Renteria Camarena who was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was making a left turn at the intersection. Due to unknown reasons, the pickup truck struck the victim.
 
As a result, El Paso Police department said 57-year-old Velazquez died in the incident.
