Maria Gonzalez Identified in Fatal Car Accident in Garland

 
GARLAND, TX (February 13, 2023) – Garland police identified 35-year-old Maria Trinidad Ortiz Gonzalez of Lewisville as the victim who died in an accident on Lyndon B Johnson (635) Freeway on February 3.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Jupiter Road just after 1:30 AM. Based on a report, a rollover accident occurred on the westbound side of the freeway.
 
Two vehicles stopped to help and Gonzalez and a 52-year-old man tried to keep traffic away from the rollover. Subsequently, an 18-wheeler tried to break and jackknifed, hitting the victims who were on the road.
 
As a result, Gonzalez died in the incident.
 
The man suffered critical injuries while the driver of the semi-truck was taken to the hospital and released.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
