Passenger Margarita Martinez-Rodriguez Identified in Fatal Slaton Car Crash

 
SLATON, TX (April 6, 2023) – Officials identified 61-year-old Margarita Martinez-Rodriguez of Slaton as the victim who died in a crash FM 41 on April 4.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at County Road 2830 at approximately 11:00 AM. Based on a report, Martinez-Rodriguez was a passenger in a 2023 Chevrolet Aveo that was traveling east on the road prior to the crash.
 
Behind it was a 2023 Ford Expedition EL. While approaching the intersection, the Chevy drove slower than the posted speed limit of 75 mph and the Ford collided into its rear.
 
As a result, Martinez-Rodriguez died in the incident.
 
The driver and two passengers in the Chevrolet had moderate injuries and were taken to University Medical Center. The driver of the Ford was not hurt.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
