Fatal Rancho Cordova Pedestrian Accident on Highway 50

 
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (February 23, 2023) — A man died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 50 near Zinfandel Drive on Monday night, February 20.

The fatal incident, which involved a red Toyota, occurred at around 7:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol East Sacramento division.

Authorities said a vehicle had been pulled over to the shoulder of Highway 50 for unknown reasons. A 20-year-old man, who was outside the vehicle, then walked into the traffic lanes.

As a result, the Toyota hit the pedestrian.

Respondents rendered aid and transported the man to an area hospital in critical condition. However, he later died.

The cause and factors behind the accident remain under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
