78-Year-Old Dies in Ontario Wrong-Way Car Crash on 60 Freeway

 
ONTARIO, CA (February 23, 2023) – Authorities confirmed that a 78-year-old man died in a wrong-way crash on 60 Freeway on Tuesday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around midnight near the Grove Avenue ramp.

Based on reports, the man was heading to the westbound freeway through the exit ramp at Grove Avenue in his 2011 Honda Civic. Soon after, an oncoming vehicle heading the opposite direction arrived.

The Civic tried to swerve to the right but crashed into a 2014 Toyota Camry. Authorities identified the Camry driver as a 56-year-old woman from Chino.

Due to the impact, the Civic driver suffered fatal injuries.

The female driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries, CHP say.

At this point, the factors that affected the crash are still under investigation. No other details were released at this time. Updates will be released once available.
