SACRAMENTO, CA (November 22, 2022) – A man died after a vehicle struck him in a pedestrian accident on Highway 50 on Thursday night, November 17.

According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on the westbound lanes of the highway near 26th Street.

Initial investigation revealed that the unidentified man was running from the center median to the highway’s shoulders before being struck by the vehicle.

The man died at the scene, police said.

The driver of the vehicle stayed and cooperated with the police.

Officials stated that alcohol and drugs did not seem to have factored in the fatal accident. However, an investigation is ongoing.
