Fatal Houston Hit-and-Run on Fannin Street near Blodgett Street

 
HOUSTON, TX (June 19, 2024) — One person died and two others sustained injuries in a hit-and-run on Fannin Street on Sunday, June 2.
 
According to the Houston Police Department, the accident occurred on Fannin Street near Blodgett Street at around 9:10 p.m.
 
Investigators said a four-door sedan crashed with a silver BMW 650i in the intersection of Fannin Street and Blodgett Street. While fleeing from the scene, the sedan drove onto the sidewalk and struck three pedestrians.
 
Responding officers pronounced a 55-year-old man dead at the scene. HPD Lt. Y. Ramirez said the man who died was probably homeless and well-known in the community. However, his identity is not yet available pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed two other victims to the hospital in serious injuries.
 
HPD said investigators continue to search for surveillance footage and witnesses.
