Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 410 in Sumner

 
SUMNER, WA (June 19, 2024) – Officials confirmed that one person died in a head-on crash on Highway 410 on June 5.
 
The Washington State Patrol said the collision happened at Highway 167. Based on a report, a suspected drunk driver was driving on Highway 167 and was heading north to Highway 410 before the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the driver was not able to negotiate the curve properly and left the roadway. The vehicle went down the embankment onto westbound Highway 410 before it struck a second vehicle head-on. A third car was also involved in the accident.
 
As a result, the driver of the second vehicle suffered grave injuries and died in the crash. Officials did not release his name, pending kin notification.
 
The third vehicle involved, that driver was not hurt.
 
Officers arrested the suspected drunk driver for DUI vehicular homicide.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
