Man Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Broadway Road in Mesa

 
MESA, AZ (May 1, 2024) – Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies confirmed that a 39-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on Broadway Road on April 24.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Ellsworth Road around 10:15 AM. Based on a report, the man was using a wheelchair while crossing the street.
 
Coming from the sidewalk, he leaned out into the roadway about 60 feet from the intersection when a garbage truck hit him.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not release his name, pending kin notification.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
