One Arrested after Longmont Hit-and-Run on 17th Avenue and Collyer Street

LONGMONT, CO (May 1, 2024) — One driver sustained injuries after a hit-and-run on 17th Avenue and Collyer Street on Monday, April 22.

According to Longmont Public Safety spokeswoman Robin Ericson, the incident occurred near the intersection at around 6:17 a.m.

Ericson said a white Cadillac traveled northbound on Collyer Street. After that, it crashed with a gold Subaru.

After that, the female driver of the white Cadillac left the scene and ran north on Collyer Street. Police later discovered her in the 1800 block of Collyer Street.

Police then arrested the woman after they found out that she had an outstanding warrant for failure to comply — second-degree domestic violence assault — strangulation.

They also cited the woman for careless driving resulting in injury, failure to notify police of the crash, and lastly, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.

In case of an accident, drivers, remember: fleeing is not an option. Stay at the scene, exchange information, and report the incident. Hit and run is a serious offense—remaining responsible ensures a fair and just resolution.
