PHOENIX, AZ (January 10, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on 10 Freeway on December 31.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 16th Street around 4:20 AM. Based on the report, a white man was in the lanes at the time of the accident. Due to unknown reasons, he was struck by at least one vehicle.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
The vehicle involved stayed and cooperated with the investigators.
 
Crews shut down the freeway at 7th Street for several hours to give way to police work.
 
DPS officials say they are seeking information on any other vehicles that may have unknowingly struck the pedestrian after the initial collision.
