Man Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on 5 Freeway in Tacoma

 
TACOMA, WA (April 9, 2024) – Officials confirmed that a 39-year-old man from Temple died in a hit-and-run on 5 Freeway on March 30.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Highway 16. Based on a report, the victim’s vehicle was stopped in two lanes of the freeway prior to the accident.
 
The vehicle was facing perpendicular on the southbound side. Due to unknown reasons, another car struck it. The driver of the second car fled the scene.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Police believed the driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries in the crash.
