Man Killed in Bicycle Accident on Highway 288 at Binz Street [Houston, TX]

Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Multiple Vehicles on Highway 288 in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (April 29, 2024) – The Houston Police Department confirmed that a man died in a bicycle accident on Highway 288 on April 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Binz Street shortly after 9:30 PM. Based on a report, the man was crossing the northbound lanes of the highway when an 18-wheeler truck almost him.
 
He then fell off his bike and was trying to get back up when at least three cars hit him.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Investigators said all three drivers stopped at the scene. Crews transported two of them to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
They noted that there was a pedestrian bridge nearby.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
