LAKEWOOD, CO (March 18, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on West Colfax Avenue on Thursday, March 7.
 
According to Lakewood Police, the man was crossing West Colfax Avenue near Independence Street on Thursday night. Then a driver struck him.
 
Emergency responders brought him to the hospital, where he succumbed to sustained injuries in the crash. Officers have not yet released his identity pending notification of his loved ones.
 
The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the authorities, said police. There are no reports if speed and/or impairment contributed to the crash.
 
Lakewood Police said the incident is the fourth pedestrian fatality since December 2023.
