Silvia Alonzo Killed in T-Bone Accident in El Paso

 
EL PASO, TX (March 18, 2024) — One person identified as 69-year-old Silvia Resendiz Alonzo died in a T-bone crash on Thursday, March 7.
 
According to the El Paso Police Department, the accident took place at the intersection of Montwood Drive and Seagull Drive at around 9:45 p.m.
 
The initial investigation determined that Alonzo drove south along the 1900 block of Seagull Drive. Then she came to a stop at the intersection of Montwood Drive.
 
As Alonzo entered the intersection in order to turn left, a 2017 Nissan Titan also traveled west on Montwood Drive.
 
Alonzo reportedly did not yield to the truck. She was then consequently T-boned by the truck.
 
Fire Medical Services rushed to the scene. After that, they transported Alonzo to a local hospital. There she succumbed to her injuries and died.
 
Authorities said the investigation is still underway. However, they said Alonzo’s failure to yield the right of way and the speed of the driver in the truck were factors in the crash.
 
The incident marks the 12th traffic death of 2024.
