COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (September 5, 2023) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on North Academy Boulevard on Thursday, August 31.
 
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, they received a call shortly before 8:00 a.m. about the incident in the 6900 block of North Academy Boulevard. The area is near a King Soopers just south of Woodmen Road.
 
Officers on the scene said the crash happened as a vehicle pulled into the parking lot. That vehicle struck a man walking from the store and into the parking lot.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and emergency responders pronounced him dead.
 
Authorities said there were no signs of impairment on the part of the driver. However, authorities will continue to investigate the accident.
