Pedestrian Killed in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run at 5th Street and Hill Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 10, 2022) – A man and his three dogs died when a vehicle hit them near West 5th Street and South Hill Street on September 29.

The Los Angeles Police Department said the man and his dogs were then crossing the intersection around 12:30 a.m. when a vehicle struck them.

As a result of the impact, the man was pinned under a pickup truck.

Authorities confirmed that he, along with his dogs, died at the scene. His identity is currently unavailable.

The LAPD thinks that the suspect, who was in his 20s, already crashed into another vehicle near 7th Street and Hill Street. He was driving towards 5th Street and Hill Street when he hit the victim.

The suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot after hitting more vehicles on Hill Street. Authorities tracked him down and arrested him for alleged DUI.
