Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 9, 2023) – The Bakersfield Police Department confirmed a man died in a hit-and-run in the 400 block of Brundage Lane on May 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 2:20 AM. Based on a report, the man was crossing the road, going north at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, a car was going east. Due to unknown reasons, the driver hit the victim and left the scene.
 
As a result, officers found the victim on the road with major injuries. Bakersfield Fire and Hall Ambulance attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian died.
 
It is not known whether speed, alcohol, or drugs were a factor.
 
As of now, BPD officers ask anyone with information to call BPD at (661) 327-7111.
