Man Dead, Another Man Injured in Speeding Accident on 15th Avenue West [Seattle, WA]

Fatal Speeding Car Crash on 15th Avenue West and West Garfield Street

 
SEATTLE, WA (July 24, 2024) — A man suffered fatal injuries in a speeding accident on 15th Avenue West on Friday, July 5.
 
According to the Seattle Police Department, the crash took place on 15th Avenue West and West Garfield Street in the Interbay neighborhood at around 10:46 p.m.
 
Police determined that a Toyota Corolla traveled northbound on 15th Avenue West at a high rate of speed. After that, the car slid sideways and crashed with a Toyota Camry moving southbound, causing the Corolla to overturn onto its side. Both vehicles sustained significant damage as a result of the crash.
 
One of the drivers, only described as an adult man, died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, a Drug Recognition Expert evaluated the other driver described as a 32-year-old man. He did not show any signs of impairment. SFD treated him for minor injuries and then transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
 
SPD did not specify which driver was in which vehicle.
