Kyleigh Posas Killed and Rosendo Rodriguez Arrested after Raymondville DUI Accident

 
RAYMONDVILLE, TX (July 24, 20240) — A 25-year-old Kyleigh Posas from Raymondville died in a DUI accident on Saturday, July 6.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place at the intersection of FM 1762 and Cantu Road at around 12:13 a.m.
 
Texas DPS officers said that a Nissan Maxima driven by Posas traveled westbound on FM 1762. At the same time, a Dodge Ram 1500 traveled northbound on Cantu Road approaching a stop sign at FM 1762.
 
The Dodge Ram driver failed to stop and then crashed into the Nissan at the intersection.
 
Posas sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, officers brought the Dodge Ram driver identified as 27-year-old Rosendo Daniel Rodriguez, of Sebastian, to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. He displayed signs of impairment and officers executed a search warrant for his blood specimen.
 
Authorities later charged Rodriguez with intoxication manslaughter. Then they transported him to the Willacy County jail, where he is pending his arraignment.
