Luke Ruggiero Arrested, Another Sustained Injuries after DUI Accident

 
MEDICAL LAKE, WA (December 29, 2023) — Officials arrested 18-year-old Luke Ruggiero after a DUI crash on Christmas Day.
 
On December 25 at about 4:00 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies rushed to a crash at the intersection of East Ladd Street and North Stanley Street.
 
Based on their primary investigation, a silver Ford Sedan by traveled north on Stanley Street. Then the driver of a Ford F250 driven by Ruggiero ran a stop sign while moving east on Ladd Street and then caused the crash.
 
Officials believe Ruggiero was under the influence and also traveled over the speed limit.
 
Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital. He remains in stable condition with serious/life-threatening injuries.
 
Traffic Unit Investigators responded to the scene to help with the investigation.
 
Law enforcement asked Ruggiero to take a field sobriety test after he admitted to drinking alcohol before this crash.
 
After that, officers brought and booked Ruggiero into Spokane County Jail. They charged him with vehicular assault.
 
Deputies checked Ruggiero’s records and it showed his previous DUI arrest in June 2022.
