Luis Castilleja Involved in Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash on Research Boulevard in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (January 17, 2023) – The Austin Police Department is looking for Luis Angel Castilleja after a fatal hit-and-run in the 8200 block of Research Boulevard on December 31.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 11:45 PM. Based on a report, Castilleja was driving at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, his vehicle crashed head-on into a concrete barrier, ejecting one of the two women in the car with him. Police said Castilleja left the scene without rendering aid to his companions.
 
As a result, one woman died in the incident. Officials did not yet release her name, pending kin notification.
 
The second woman suffered serious injuries.
 
Police ask anyone with any information about Castilleja to contact APD at 512-974-5017. Charges of two counts of accident causing serious bodily injury and two counts of aggravated assault are waiting for him.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
