Willow Howard Causes Cle Elum Car Crash on Highway 97 near Blewett Pass
CLE ELUM, WA (January 17, 2023) – Officers cited 31-year-old Willow Howard of White Swan following a crash on Highway 97 on January 9.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Blewett Pass. Based on a report, Howard was driving a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz SUV southbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he lost control and crossed the center line. There, a northbound 2008 GMC Sierra Pickup rear-ended his vehicle, sending both vehicles into a snow bank on the northbound shoulder.
As a result, a child in Howard’s vehicle suffered serious injuries in the incident. Paramedics airlifted the victim to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
32-year-old Kara Plensky of Renton and a 13-year-old girl from Auburn also suffered injuries and were transported to Cascade Medical Center in Leavenworth with Howard. Crews also took a seven-year-old child in the GMC to the same hospital.
Police cited Howard for speeding too fast for road conditions.
