Lisa Merxbauer and Robin Lawrence Identified in Fatal Nolan County Crash

 
NOLAN COUNTY, TX (August 15, 2023) – Officials identified 66-year-old Lisa Whisenant Merxbauer of San Antonio and 65-year-old Robin Williams Lawrence of Lubbock who died in a crash on Highway Business 84 on August 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Highway 84. Based on a report, Merxbauer was driving near the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Officers said she failed to yield the right-of-way to a semi-truck pulling a trailer, causing a crash.
 
As a result, Merxbauer and Robin sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Crews took the driver of the tractor, Nelson Sierra DeJesus of Sweetwater, to a Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital with a non-incapacitating injury.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
