Levi Eytcheson Killed While Fleeing Officers in Amarillo

 
AMARILLO, TX (July 17, 2023) – The Amarillo Police Department identified 21-year-old Levi Joseph Eytcheson who died in a motorcycle accident on Prairie Avenue on July 6.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Western Street around 6:08 PM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a sport motorcycle at a high rate of speed prior to the crash, prompting an officer to pull him over.
 
Subsequently, Eytcheson ran a red light at Southwest 58th Avenue and Western Street before turning northbound. To avoid danger, the officer stopped trying to chase him as he continued speeding northbound on Western Street.
 
At the intersection with Prairie Avenue, Eytcheson crashed into a Ford pickup that was leaving a parking lot.
 
As a result, Eytcheson sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
