Leslie Yeager Detained in Phoenix Car Crash, Unborn Baby Killed

 
PHOENIX, AZ (March 27, 2023) – Police arrested 39-year-old Leslie Yeager of Phoenix following a hit-and-run crash on 9th Street on March 19.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Grovers Avenue shortly before 10:30 PM.
 
Based on a report, a vehicle was traveling near 9th at the time of the crash. Subsequently, Yeager hit the vehicle as its driver tried to turn left.
 
Both cars spun out of the intersection and Yeager fled the scene.
 
As a result, a pregnant woman in the other vehicle was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced her unborn child dead. The woman remains in critical condition.
 
Crews also took the other woman to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
Officers said Yeager fled the scene to a 7-Eleven, which she tried to walk away from her car. However, a witness followed her and they were able to find and detain her. They booked her on one count of manslaughter, one count of leaving an accident, one count of aggravated assault, one count of endangerment, and one count of aggravated assault on an officer.
 
As of now, an investigation into what led up to the crash is ongoing.
