Lavan Canada Dies, Angelo Pascua Detained after Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 20, 2024) — A 34-year-old man identified as Lavan Canada died in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday, March 12.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the crash occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on Sahara Avenue, just east of Valley View Boulevard.
 
LVMPD said Cana tried to cross the eastbound lanes on Sahara Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk. Then a Nissan 370Z driven by 29-year-old Angelo Pascua struck him and fled.
 
Responding officers pronounced Canada dead at the scene.
 
LVMPD said Pascua returned to the scene a few hours after the crash and identified himself as the driver. He also told officers where they could find the Nissan 370Z.
 
Police then arrested Pascua and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center.
 
Authorities closed Sahara Avenue until nearly 6:00 a.m. due to debris on the road.
