Woman Killed, Darion Thomas Arrested in Stolen Car Crash in Dallas

 
DALLAS, TX (March 21, 2024) – Dallas Police arrested 26-year-old Darion Thomas after a stolen car crash in the 1300 block of Murdock Road on March 11.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 1:00 AM. Based on a report, a car owner called 911 and shared that a woman was asleep in her car when a man took it.
 
The man – identified as Thomas – drove at high speeds, lost control, and crashed in front of the family home of Mireya Diaz. The impact ejected the woman out of the vehicle.
 
As a result, the woman suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. The Dallas County Medical Examiner did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Thomas then crawled away from the crash but paramedics took him to the hospital for his leg injuries. He was then taken to the Dallas County Jail. Police said Thomas faces charges of murder and theft.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
