Lamar Lilly Identified in Fatal Dirt Bike Crash in Killeen
KILLEEN, TX (February 22, 2023) – The Killeen Police Department identified 28-year-old Lamar Lavance Lilly as the victim who died in a crash on Westcliff Road on February 18.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 6:46 PM.
Based on a report, Lilly was traveling on a bike eastbound on Westcliff at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. At the same time, a Mercedes was traveling westbound. Due to unknown reasons, the Mercedes began to turn southbound onto Moonlight and Lilly collided with its side. The force then ejected him from his bike.
Police said they found Lilly unconscious in the roadway. Crews transported him to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the Mercedes reportedly stayed on the scene.
Police said that Lilly was on the road illegally at the time of the crash with no lights on. He was also reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time.
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
