Kristina Lara and Josiah Lara Identified in Fatal Phoenix Crash
PHOENIX, AZ (November 7, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 25-year-old Kristina Lara and 2-month-old Josiah Lara who died in a crash on 19th Avenue on October 25.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Lower Buckeye Road. Based on a report, a silver car was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic before the incident.
According to witnesses, when its 23-year-old driver accelerated at a yellow light, the car collided with a black truck.
The Phoenix Fire Department said five people, including four children, were rushed to the hospital. Both Kristina and her baby died due to severe injuries.
Three other children who were in the car were in stable conditions.
The 75-year-old driver of the truck stayed at the scene and was hurt. A charging decision will be made after the crash reconstruction is complete.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
