Motorcyclist Kostyantyn Kray Identified in Fatal Orchards Accident
PORT ORCHARDS, WA (August 9, 2024) – Officials identified 28-year-old Kostyantyn G. Kray of Vancouver who died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 503 on July 23.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 4:10 AM. Based on a report, Kray was driving a 2024 BMW motorcycle at a high rate of speed northbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
At the same time, 82-year-old John C. Whitcomb of Vancouver was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on the highway. Due to unknown reasons, Kray hit Whitcomb’s car that was turning left at 99th Street
As a result, Kray suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews took him to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he later died.
Whitcomb was wearing a seat belt and was not hurt in the crash.
The State Patrol said the crash was due to speed and improper passing.
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
