NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (May 15, 2023) – Officials identified 28-year-old Khalin Hershel Houston of Las Vegas in a pedestrian accident on Highway 95 on May 1.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of the Decatur Boulevard on-ramp around 9:50 PM.
 
Based on a report, Houston was a passenger in a blue Dodge Avenger that had stopped in the far right travel lane on the northbound side of the highway prior to the crash.
 
The victim’s car had run out of gas and he exited and walked to the rear of the vehicle. Due to unknown reasons, a gray Chrysler 200 traveling in that same lane approaching the on-ramp failed to slow down.
 
After that, the Chrysler hit both Houston and the rear of the Dodge. The Chrysler spun clockwise and caught fire right in the middle lane of the highway.
 
As a result, Houston died at the scene.
 
At this point, no other details are available. In addition, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
