Kevin Sallas Identified in Fatal Accident with Semi-Truck in Jones County

 
JONES COUNTY, TX (November 1, 2023) – Officials identified 49-year-old Kevin Sallas of Abilene who died in a semi-truck accident on Highway 92 on October 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 1661 around 6:00 PM. Based on a report, Sallas was traveling south down FM 1661 at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to yield to a semi-truck driver who was traveling on the highway. Subsequently, the semi-truck hit Sallas’ pickup.
 
As a result, Sallas sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of this crash.
